Ulvetimen (wolves' hour)

In these paintings I have dealt with 'being under pressure'. When we work too much, drink more than we tolerate, when we lack nearness and love. One of these situations is called "the wolves' hour" in Danish. Children crying and screaming and behaving horribly in the supermarket shortly before closing time. Parents with wild eyes trying hastily to get their shopping done to get home and feed the cubs. One recognizes that situation with horror. The time between knockin- off time and supper can be hard to bear for families with children.
The word 'ulvetimen' in this sense first appears in 1983; the hours before supper- time where children are tired and hungry and therefore 'impossible'. I read this explanation on wikipedia's pages. But isn't it in fact the parents that behave strenuously?
