VisitorsIn september 2009 I visited the place in Switzerland where the famous german poet Rainer Maria Rilke is buried. In the Valais in the Rhone valley and on its sunny slopes he spent the last years of his eventful life that was full of enthusiasm. He was only 51 years old when he died in 1926. Often, when I am painting, I listen to audiobooks with interpretations of his poems by some of the most famous german artists of today be it musicians, actors, or authors. Rilke, who was born in Prague, was always on the road, he felt nowhere at home; in Paris he collaborated with the distinguished sculptor Auguste Rodin, a man who gave Rilke lots of inspiration and whose biography he wrote. Just like Rilke transformed Rodin's sculptural works to words I try to use the poet's fabulous imagery in my crative process. Rilkes works are a never dwindling source of inspiration to me. All paintings are for sale. You are welcome to write an email or ring +45 28 65 71 40, if you would like to see them in original. |
